PROTECT Competitive Grant Program – FY24-FY26

The Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) Competitive Grant Program provides funding to plan for and make surface transportation more resilient to current and future weather events, natural disasters, and changing conditions, such as severe storms, flooding, drought, levee and dam failures, wildfire, rockslides, mudslides, sea level rise, extreme weather, including extreme temperatures, and earthquakes. 

Additional Information:
Funding is available for: 1) Planning (up to $79M available), 2) Resilience Improvement (up to $551 available), 3) Community Resilience and Evacuation Route (up to $79M available), and 4) At-Risk Coastal Infrastructure (up to $79M available).

Match Requirement: 0-20% cost-share (not required for Planning Grants)
