City Island Oyster Reef Coastal Resilience Tour

October 28 @ 9:00am – 1:00pm

Join us on a tour of City Island Oyster Reef’s restoration sites in the Long Island Sound and learn about their resilience efforts on City Island. We will begin with a walking tour of City Island Oyster Reef’s living shoreline behind Ambrosini Fields. From there, we will continue with a boat tour around City Island for an up-close look at their oyster monitoring work and a preview of their first oyster reef, which they anticipate deploying in the summer of 2027. The tour will include presentations on the history of oysters on City Island, lessons learned on funding and permitting, and highlights from partners in resilience and education. Please note that the boat tour component is weather-dependent.
