USDA Water Grants and Loans Available to Water and Wastewater Utilities
There are four USDA programs that can support water and wastewater systems for disasters or mitigation:
1) Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants (ECWAG)
2) Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program
3) Special Evaluation Assistance for Rural Communities and Households
4) Revolving Funds for Financing Water and Wastewater Projects
Additional Information:
Eligible project types related to resilience include:
1) Emergency repairs and replacement of facilities on existing systems;
2) Sewer collection, transmission, treatment and disposal;
3) Solid waste collection, disposal and closure;
4) Storm water collection, transmission and disposal;
5) predevelopment feasibility studies, design, and technical assistance on proposed water and waste disposal projects; and
6) predevelopment costs for water and wastewater treatment projects and short-term small capital improvement projects.
