SHPO Survey & Planning Grants

The Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) offers Survey and Planning Grants for a variety of historic preservation planning purposes. These grants are part of a state commitment to provide increased funding for open space, farmland preservation, historic preservation and affordable housing. SHPO is now accepting Survey and Planning
Grant applications for State Fiscal Year 2026 (July 1, 2025-June 30 2026). There will be $480,000 available and grant awards will range from $5,000-$20,000.

The Land & Easement Acquisition Program (LEAP)

The Land & Easement Acquisition Program (LEAP) is designed to bridge funding gaps and accelerate the protection of valuable conservation lands. CLCC will prioritize projects that:

  • Have a closing time frame of 12 months or less.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to conservation.
  • Align with statewide land conservation goals.
  • Have leveraged and/or exhausted other public and private funding sources.
