Resilience and Adaptation in New England (RAINE) Database

The following tools and materials from EPA New England’s Resilience and Adaptation in New England (RAINE)initiative support users in exploring climate resilience planning across the region. These resources include guidance for navigating RAINE’s mapping platforms, interpreting climate data, and accessing a broad library of adaptation planning documents. Users can view recorded webinars and trainings featuring demonstrations of RAINE’s enhanced map-based capabilities. Additional support materials, including the Adding Climate Layers tutorial and Mapping Climate Change Impacts page, offer step by step technical guidance and complementary visualization tools. The platform also provides access to adaptation plans developed by tribal governments and resources addressing environmental justice in climate planning. Users are encouraged to subscribe for updates and contact the RAINE team to share additional adaptation efforts or request assistance.

Explore a range of tools and guidance to support climate adaptation planning through the RAINE Database, which includes more than 1,200 climate adaptation plans across New England and allows users to search by keyword, region, and topic. Use the Featured Locations Interactive Map to view climate action examples and regional planning efforts in a visual, place based format. For hands-on learning, access past trainings through the Webinars & Trainings page, including a detailed session on RAINE’s enhanced map based tools. Practitioners can also follow the Adding Climate Layers Tutorial to learn how to upload and visualize custom climate data in RAINE’s mapping tools, and explore additional climate visualization platforms through the Mapping Climate Change Impacts Tools page. The database also highlights Tribal Climate Adaptation Resources, featuring plans from federally recognized tribes in New England, as well as Environmental Justice Adaptation Resources that address equity centered climate planning. Users are encouraged to stay informed through the Subscribe for RAINE Updates page and can share relevant plans or programs with the RAINE team via the Contact / Submit Resources form.
