West Haven Coastal Resilience Tour

On Friday, October 2, 2026, 25 participants joined the Sustainable & Resilient Communities team to learn about how the City of West Haven is enhancing its coastal resilience on several fronts. We began the day with presentations from the RACE Engineering, the Land Trust of West Haven, and SLR that reviewed the history, funding strategy, and progression of each project. Next, we hopped on a shuttle bus to tour project sites that were in various stages of completion, including the Beach Street Elevation, West Haven Eco Park, Cove River Tidal Marsh Restoration, and Resilient Cove River Project. The group shared challenges, successes, and discussed lessons learned together with other practitioners.
